how is it already september?! it feels like i just created the summer bucket list, and now i’m back to work and into fall. we had a great but busy summer, and have loved having yall follow along with our adventures!
i wrote a post going into detail about our travels in may and june that i will link here. those two months were definitely our most productive, taking us to the drive in, strawberry picking, and to the painted hills national park.
since then, i went to the lavender fields (which i posted about here), went blueberry picking (twice- i posted a great cobbler recipe here!) and to silver falls. check out the other two posts for more details, because today i’ll be sharing mostly about silver falls and the items i didn’t check off this year!
last week, spencer and i went to silver falls state park with bob and kaeleigh, and i definitely wish i had done more research. due to time constraints, we were only able to be at the park for about 2 hours. we started at the north falls trailhead, and walked for about an hour and a half total. we saw 2 of the 10 waterfalls within the state park, and of course- took lots of pictures 😜. next time we go to the park, we’re planning on making it a full day trip and attempting to complete the whole 8 mile loop. it was absolutely gorgeous, and i can’t wait to go back!
okay- now to the sad part. we weren’t able to complete three of the eight items on the bucket list this summer. the three we missed were crater lake national park, opal creek, and thor’s well/devil’s punchbowl. the main reason we didn’t complete these items was that these three are the furthest from our house. crater lake is almost five hours from portland, opal creek is around three hours, and depending on where you live in portland, it can take one-two hours to get out to the coast. these three are still high on my priority list, and will be transferred either to my spring or summer bucket lists in 2019.
thanks for following along with the #xoxolovelaurasummerbucketlist this year! i’m working hard to get the fall bucket list ready, and am excited to share some partnerships we have in the works for yall!
