As the weather is heating up, I’ve been on the hunt for pieces to add to my capsule for end of spring/early summer. The 3 pieces I’ve highlighted as part of my “style multiple ways” series are definitely in the line up (denim jacket, simple tank, and kimono), but here are 3 more pieces you can expect to see in various outfits throughout the summer. Enjoy!
Paperbag shorts - I don’t know about you, but when it comes to shopping for shorts, it’s one of my least favorite things. I’ve had a really hard time lately finding shorts that feel flattering and aren’t too short. I saw a blogger I follow, Dress Up Buttercup, wearing a pair of paper bag shorts and loved the length and how they looked on her. I got these two pair from Abercrombie, and would recommend ordering a couple of sizes to see which ones fit the best. The white denim shorts are sized like Abercrombie’s jeans, but the striped ones are sized S, M, L.
Bralette - I have only recently hopped on board the bralette train. I was worried they wouldn’t give me enough support and I would be uncomfortable during the day. This bralette is a “dupe” for a popular bralette from Free People, but what I liked about this one is that the straps are adjustable. The padding can sometimes get a little twisted in the wash, but I feel like it adds just enough support to wear it on a daily basis. I have the color “Dove” and feel like I’m between a medium and a large. I would recommend sizing up at this point (only have a medium but will be ordering a large when I get a different color).
Converse slip ons - During the summer, I don’t particularly enjoy wearing tennis shoes super frequently. I usually prefer my Birkenstock’s or a different pair of sandals to keep my feet cooler. These slip ons are a great compromise, and run true to size. I would also recommend buying no show socks like this to avoid blisters (also after walking 5 miles in them in Greenville, I don’t recommend them for a day at Disneyland or anything similar 😂)
To quote The Lizzie McGuire movie, I am 100% an outfit repeater and proud! You probably won’t see many posts this summer without at least one of these staples as part of the outfit!
