With the holidays now over, and the dark, cloudy gloom moving in, one thing that makes these winter months fun is exploring different Portland restaurants. My friends and I enjoy trying different happy hours in town to try out the menus without the dinner price commitment. I rounded up my top 5 places in Portland, and hope you find at least one you enjoy!
1. Bar Miranda- Happy Hour Monday-Saturday 4-7 pm 827 SW 2nd Avenue Mezzanine, Portland, OR 97204
My friend Kaeleigh and I were fortunate enough to check out Bar Miranda last month, and we loved the unique drinks and tropical feel of the bar. This bar is a part of the Portland Food Hall, and offers a selection of food options as well as drinks. Kaeleigh and I both had the Caipirinhas, which we learned is one of the main drinks in Brazil. The bar also features mojitos and other tropical drinks that will make you forget the gray dreary gloom out in the streets of Portland!
**Kaeleigh and I received complimentary drinks from Bar Miranda, however all opinions are my own.
2. Portland City Grill- Happy Hour: Monday-Saturday 4-7 and 9-close, Sunday noon-close 111 SW 5th Ave, Portland, OR 97204
Before I turned 21, Portland City Grill was only somewhere I went if it was a super special occasion. Located on the 30th floor of a downtown skyscraper, the views are spectacular, and the food even better. The happy hour menu is only served in the lounge, which is open seating, but if you’re lucky enough to snag a table by the window, the view is just the same as the dining room. Both the poblano mac and cheese and grilled steakhouse cheeseburger are great food options, and I love their pomegranate margarita!
3. Bartini- Happy Hour: all day Sunday and Monday, Tuesday-Saturday 4-6:30 2108 NW Glisan St, Portland, OR 97210
I’m not sure why it took me so long to find Bartini, but now that I’ve been once, I’ll for sure be back! Bartini’s menu has pages of martinis that range from classic vodka and gin to spicy, fruity, and decadent options. All of their drinks are discounted to almost half off, and they offer discounted fondue from Urban Fondue as well as other happy hour food options. Word of advice, it does get crowded fairly quickly, so be prepared to wait on Sunday nights!
4. Stanfords- Happy Hour: Monday-Saturday 3-6, all day Sunday multiple locations in the Portland metro area
Spencer and I celebrated our anniversary a day early this year, which fell on a Sunday. We wanted to go somewhere nicer, but didn’t want to spend a ton of money, so Stanfords happy hour was perfect! I got a pomegranate margarita (do you see a theme?), Spencer got a beer, and we both got plenty of food all for under $50. The portions are definitely smaller than a dinner portion, but since I always take home leftovers, the portions are actually perfect for me!
5. Teardrop Lounge- Happy Hour: Daily 4-6 1015 NW Everett St, Portland, OR 97209
I’ll be honest, I have not been to Teardrop for happy hour, however it’s one of my favorite spots for cocktails in Portland. We went to Teardrop for the first time during my bachelorette party, and my friend Krysta and I have gone back multiple times since. The vibe is super cool, and every drink I’ve had has been really good. Plus their bartenders are knowledgeable and make the atmosphere super fun!
Is there anywhere I’ve missed? Let me know!
