Spring to Summer Happy Hour Outfit and Our Experience at Michael Jordan Steakhouse!

Hello friends!

Its almost Friday! 🎉 It’s supposed to be nice weather this weekend, and the end of the school year is in sight! Something I love about summer is it seems like peoples’ schedules become a little more flexible, and we’re able to meet up after work to do fun things.

I’ll be honest- usually when I meet up with friends after work, I come in my work clothes which basically consists of jeans and a v neck tee. But last week I wanted to switch it up because Kaeleigh and I had the amazing opportunity to meet for happy hour at Michael Jordan Steakhouse, which is a part of the ilani Casino Resort in Ridgefield, WA. These shorts are my current favorite, and paired perfectly with the cropped lace top. Of course, I had to pair it with my go to jean jacket in case the restaurant was cold, and dressed it up with a pair of wedges. I’ve had these wedges since I was in high school, and can not find them anywhere (probably because that was 8 years ago 😂) but I found a pair that looks super similar!

We had a blast at MJSH, the food was amazing and we loved getting to meet the chef and leadership of the restaurant. Their happy hour menu has recently expanded to being served Monday-Friday from 4:00-6:00 and they’re going to be constantly updating it, so make sure you check out the menu before you go to see what’s new. We tried a little bit of everything, and my favorites by far were the bacon macaroni and cheese, green peppercorn poutine, and the 23 layer chocolate cake 😋 Kaeleigh and I both had the sangria to drink, and they update the flavor seasonally (ours was pineapple peach!) to keep it fresh. We also sampled the vermouth they use in their Manhattan, and Kaeleigh and I both were super impressed! They do have an outside patio, but the assistant manager, Jeff, told us that it’s usually pretty windy outside, so it doesn’t get used super often.

Final thoughts:

Value: Overall, the portions were definitely a good value for the price, and are comparable to Portland City Grill (but I think the portions are bigger at MJSH). The drink specials seemed pricey at first, but once we saw the size of the drinks, the price definitely made more sense. MJSH is striving to provide high quality food at a reasonable price, especially the happy hour menu.

Traffic: coming from Portland, it took us about 45 minutes to get to the resort during typical traffic (it would have been shorter if I hadn’t misread the navigation 🤦🏼‍♀️) and we left around 3:45. Traffic does tend to get a little worse than that from Portland the closer you get to 5:00, but if you work in Vancouver- this would be a perfect spot! Most of the traffic let up as soon as we crossed into Washington!

Special events: Next time we go, we want to go on Wednesday because they have live piano music both Wednesday and Sunday evenings! The resort also hosts concerts and shows pretty regularly, and if you want to eat at MJSH beforehand they recommend making a reservation.

If you have any questions, let me know! Kaeleigh and I were given complimentary food and drink in exchange for our review, but all opinions are my own. I value you as readers and would never recommend something I didn’t believe in!

love, laura
